Based on the original novel from 1900, considered the first North American fairytale, on a farm in Kansas' countryside, the protagonist hero of the story, Dorothy, an orphan girl in her early teens, and her pet dog Toto, are taken by a hurricane together with their house. Sucked into the heart of the storm, the house spins until it lands, and Dorothy realizes she is not in Kansas anymore and that she must have crossed over the Rainbow. She finds herself in a place with bright blue skies, beautiful green hills, tall trees with juicy fruits, and giant flowers in a wonderful landscape.
