The Universe can be an unpredictable and dangerous place, which was exactly what Ph'shr Ryyce was counting on when he resigned from his position as a T.U.5.C.C. Security Chief to start his own private enterprise called The Shadow Circle. Nicknamed the "Adventure Squadron", this team is called in to assist with rescue missions, item acquisitions and retrievals, security details, or other jobs where a diverse set of skills and a commitment to discretion is required. While many would assume that The Shadow Circle are mercenaries willing to work for whomever will pay their fees, the reality is that Ph'shr is very selective in the assignments he accepts. There are carefully calculated reasons behind the clients he works with and the alliances he has begun to forge, for in a universe that is unpredictable and dangerous, who you know and who owes you favors can be the difference between life and death.

The Grayborn's ability to access a transcendental state known as "The Gray" has granted them considerable power, as well as a measure of celebrity, in Cosmerrium. The M.A.Z.E. (The MeshedAssemblage of Zonal Enlightenment) is recognized system-wide as a source of information, and those who wield that information help shape the opinions of the populace. Yet, despite this power and influence, there are those among the Grayborn who believe that the M.A.Z.E. is being used improperly, and they long for a return to the ways of old.Altarr Cyllovius is a Grayborn Traditionalist, one of a growing number of this race who have begun to argue for a return to the days before The M.A.Z.E. and their association with official government bodies. A belief that information should be shared freely and without dilution or added interpretation of the facts is what Altarr and the traditionalists have argued. It is a stance which has brought them to the attention of many in Cosmerrium, including some who agree with what they preach and others who wish to see these sermons, and those who speak them, silenced.

A bodyguard employed by the AEXOR3 company, Kalian Shunn's job is to make sure that her fellow crew members, and the cargo they are carrying, arrive safely at their destination and that all agreed upon payments are made upon delivery. This position keeps her constantly busy and always on the move, a situation which suits someone trying to escape their past.Kalie never talks about where she came from, including where she learned the combat skills she has become known for or where she acquired the unusual armor she wears on parts of her body. Only the captain of the ship she flies upon knows that she was once a member of the Ipperian Column, the elite bodyguards of the Phaerrox empire. Dismissed from the ranks of the Ipperian for questioning a direct order from her commanders, Kalian immediately decided to leave Z'tratos. She changed her name and her appearance and took work that would utilize her skills, but which would take her far away from what her gut told her was danger posed by the very institution she had once sworn to defend.

Something of a mystery even among other members of the Bleeder's Guild, Opor-A-Tiv83 uses advanced illusion technology to alter his appearance, voice, and mannerisms. This technology allows him to infiltrate even the most secure locations in his efforts to gather intelligence for the Bleeder's Guild.Opor-A-Tiv83's most recent mission brought him to an undisclosed T.U.5.C.C. facility. Donning a suit of T.U.5.C.C. armor, he was able to uncover startling secrets that the organization had been keeping hidden. As he was leaving the complex, Opor-A-Tiv83's presence was detected and an alert was put out for his capture and immediate return to the facility. This spy now finds himself on the run, armed with a secret that will either lead to his destruction or a hefty payday from his employers.

Sskur'ge is a brutish thug whose only marketable skills are his incredible strength and nearly impenetrable scaley hide. This Duoderm tracker has made a career out of hunting down fugitives and returning them bruised and battered to those who have placed a price on their heads.Although not a full-time employee of the Traders Union of the Five Circles of Cosmerrium, Sskur'ge gets most of his work from that organization. This includes a recent bounty on a Bleeder's Guild spy who uncovered something he shouldn't have. Chasing the spy to a nearby transportation Outpost, Sskur'ge waits for his quarry to exit the safety of that facility. One swipe of his massive tail and the chase will be over, and he will be on his way to collect his fee for another capture.

Scapebacks can be found across all of Thraxxon, with different variations of this species adapted to survive in the specific parts of the planet where they live. Native to the harsh valleys of Thraxxon, the lowland scapeback is the most aggressive classification of this race. Lowland scapebacks have heavy plates of armor and sharp spines across their body. This armor protects the scapeback while also allowing it to perfectly blend into the landscape ofthe planet as they hibernate to conserve energy, only emerging once they believe a potential meal is nearby.

Natives of Thraxxon, Thraxxians are well adapted to living in the harsh environments of their home planet. Notoriously territorial, Thraxxians maintain a primitive, yet well-structured social community amongst their familial tribes. From the Elders to the hunters, down to the scouts who are sent out to investigate threats to the ommunity, all Thraxxians will exhibit extreme aggression towards anything they do not understand or which they believe to be a disruption to their continued existence.

As a remote planet, Thraxxon is very primitive from a technological standpoint. While the Thraxxians eschew any non-native technology, the Veeblians revere that same tech, treating it with fascination and giddy excitement. Part of a structured, hive-like society with homes built into the vast cliffs that rise from the valleys of Thraxxon, Veeblians adorn thosehomes with the discarded technological curiosities that they find. Most Veeblians view these trinkets as mysterious treasures, but some, like UkHa, have learned how to repair and use some of the itemswhich they have found, making them even more revered by their tribes.

Uularia and her husband, Vellok, have worked for the AEXOR3 corporation as reclamation specialists for many cycles. As the navigator of the Qorgonox, Uularia's job is to chart safe passage for the "OxKrewe" to wherever their assignments may take them. She takes this role incredibly seriously, for those crew members who travel alongside her are more than just her co-workers, they are her chosen family and she is the protective mother whose job it is to keep them on the right path.

Vellok Speer's official AEXOR3 designation is the pilot of the reclamation vessel known as the Qorgonox. However, to those who travel aboard that ship as part of the "OxKrewe", Vellok is their unofficial leader and nothing less than a father figure to this unconventional family.

Assigned to Zone-A, the warmest part of the planet, Anthophilees leads those under his command with a steady hand, calm demeanor, and warm personality that is rare amongst his species.

This loyalty extends to any handlers they befriend and whom they allow to saddle them as mounts.Separated from his herd as a calf, Bunji was found lost in the wastes of Thraxxon by a party of Veeblian wanderers. Keeping the calf alive, the Veeblians tried to reunite the creature with its kind, only to discover that the herd had been attacked and killed by hunters.Knowing that the calf would not survive on its own, a Veeblian named AhgCha raised the creature, forming an unbreakable bond with the scapeback that exceeded even the natural tendencies of these affable beasts.

This anomaly was the suspected cause of a number of T.U.5.C.C. vessels which had gone missing while on assignments in that area. Hylor and his partner detected the problem as soon as they entered the Fourth Ring, but unfortunately for the pair of T.U.5.C.C. Empiricists, detection and understanding of the anomaly was not enough to save them from falling victim to it. Their vessel's instruments failed, and they crashed on a planet named Thraxxon.Salvaging much of the T.U.5.C.C.-issued equipment from their ship, including a pair of Hostile Environment Suits and a small arsenal of weaponry and defensive gear, the pair left their damaged vessel and set out into the harsh terrain of Thraxxon."

Empiricists sent to investigate a spatial anomaly around the planet Thraxxon, Jobara Kee and her partner survived a crash landing on the strange planet. With the chance of a rescue from the Traders Union slim at best, the Empiricists knew that they would need to find a way to survive in this harsh environment they found themselves in.Following a homing beacon transmitting on an old Traders Union frequency, the Empiricists came upon a discovery they did not expect - a settlement that they would eventually discover was named Scapehaven.Jobara and her partner approached the settlement, but they were immediately besieged on all sides as raiders from the settlement who had been in hiding attacked. Bringing up their heavy shields and wielding their electro-batons, the pair of Empiricists fought off nearly a dozen attackers. This display proved their worth and earned them an invitation to join the settlement of Scapehaven to add to its strength.With their T.U.5.C.C. training and equipment, the Empiricists were assigned under Kurnn Ray as two of Scapehaven's Rovers - teams who scour the wastes of Thraxxon looking for resources and taking what they need to survive."

Unfortunately for Kogg, the same skills that have made him an invaluable member of the OxKrewe have also made him a target for a hostile band of wasteland bandits.Accompanying the bandits to their settlement in order to secure the release of the OxKrewe's captive science officer, Kogg boards the bandits' transport as they head to the dreaded Harrow Zone. A stretch of unforgiving landscape separating the Northern and Southern parts of Thraxxon, surviving the journey through the Harrows is only the first challenge ahead of Kogg. He knows that his strength will be tested if they are able to make it to the settlement his abductors have called Scapehaven. Kogg is resigned to do what he must to rescue his fellow crew member - even if he has to fight every wasteland bandit in Thraxxon to do so.

The level of coordination and planning seen in their attacks has also increased, evidence that points to someone using these hunters as part of a larger plan. Rumors have swirled of a wasteland warlord who aims to rule over all of Thraxxon, and who is seemingly using the violent proclivities of the Thraxxians to help further his goals.It is a party of these Thraxxians who are hunting the convoy traveling from the OxKrewe's camp back to Scapehaven. Setting up a trap along the Harrow Zone, the Hunters lie in wait as their prey makes their way towards them and an inevitable clash that may have important implications for the power-structure of Thraxxon."

He is known by many names. Kris Kringle, Saint Nicholas, Papa Noel, Weihnachtsmann, Babbo Natale, Grandfather Frost, Sinterklaas, Santa, Father Christmas. Whatever moniker you know him by, and whatever legends you have heard, one similarity across them all is that of a benevolent soul who brings joy to the children of the world.In some of these stories he is a plump and jolly old elf, while in others he is a kind and generous man of the cloth. In other, much older tales he is a spirt of nature, friend to goodly creatures large and small. There is great magic in these tales. Father Christmas is the spirit of generosity, and those who honor the lessons he teaches and bring happiness to the world help spread his magic. There are places where the walls between this world and the next grow thin, allowing spirts from beyond to roam unbidden between the two worlds. One such place is a small village on the East bank of the Hudson River in New York. Originally named North Tarrytown, this haunted glen is more commonly known as Sleepy Hollow.Rumored to have been bewitched long ago, stories of strange happenings and distant voices on the air have long been told in Sleepy Hollow. The most dominant spirt that haunts this enchanted region is that of a headless, cloaked rider atop a great black steed - the Headless Horseman. Said to be the restless ghost of a Hessian Trooper who lost his head to a cannonball during some long-forgotten battle of the Revolutionary War, the Headless Horseman rides forth on the blackest of nights, desperately searching for his lost head. Any who are unfortunate enough to meet the Galloping Hessian on his ride are never to be seen again, the only proof of their encounter with the dread apparition being the shattered remains of the jack-o-lantern he often uses in place of his lost head.

The title page of Charles Dickens "A Christmas Carol" reads "A Ghost Story of Christmas". While the tradition of telling "scary ghost stories" for the holidays did not originate with Mr. Dickens, his tale of holiday hauntings and redemption is certainly the most well-known Christmas ghost story. It is filled with characters that have become iconic symbols of the season, including the three Ghosts of Christmas, the sickly Tiny Tim and the Cratchitt family, and the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge who is redeemed through the lessons taught by the visit of those aforementioned three spirits. Yet, there is another spirit found in the pages of this story, one who is perhaps the most visually recognizable of all of Dickens' ghosts. We are of course referring to the man who, in life, was Scrooge's partner. The latest character to haunt the halls of Figura Obscura is none other than the Ghost of Jacob Marley.Don´t glow in the dark.
